Trail

For Documenta 13 Natascha Sadr Haghighian constructed a footpath on a slope made of debris from World War Two, parallel to the Ehrenmal, connecting Bellevue (Schöne Aussicht) and Karlsaue park in Kassel. Onomatopoeic animal sounds in different languages emanate from the bushes and trees as the visitor descends into the park. The web-based trail d(13)pfad.de is a collaboration with Pola Sieverding and accompanies the physical trail. It contains materials connecting to the rubble, the plants, the animals, the people and the languages Natascha and Pola encountered on the trail. Together we are working on a book adaptation of the website content.
